Wes, did the previous owner tell you how many hours he was getting between rebuilds? We're building a set of 800's for the 36' so just curious.

Frank -

No he didn't..the motors have very low hours on them since first rebuilt so there's not enough history there yet.

I have friends who have seen 100-150 hours out of motors like this and others who have seen less than 60.
I guess a lot depends on maintenance and style of running.
I usually change oil / filters every 10 - 15 hours as I'm sure you do , hopefully maxing out the engine life.

Post some pics of those bad boys when they're done !!

Hey Wes , Were are you going to keep the boat? . I know of a hydro hoist that would hold that boat , and if you act early you could probably get a spot in the marina I keep my boat. Tom :D

I think you'll get way more than 100-150 hrs, depending how you run them. If you run WOT than that's a different story but, at cruise 3200-3500 you shouldn't be building any boost. I guess we'll both have to see.....

I'll definetely post some pics at different stages of the project. Look forward to meeting you at the NJPPC run, or in NYC etc...
