Need a New Mechanic in Bayville, NJ
#13
If you run some searches in the tech section on winterizing 496s, something should come up. The 496 is an easy job, and I'm not mechanically experienced. Basically you blow out the lines with the pump that is supplied, unscrew the blue plugs on either bottom front side of the engine to let the remaining water drain and that's it. Some run antifreeze through their system, some don't. Make sure you flush it with fresh first if you run in the ocean, and also run stabilizer through the fuel system. Some run a two cycle mix to fog the engine also. All of these are easy to do. But check the tech section in case I left something out.

Not sure if Ken Blood does house calls, but they are just south of you on rt 9.
My folks have used them for about 5 years now to winterize their outboard.
I think they also do some work on Team Relentless ( I see the boat there).

Jimmy and Garry are friends and do a lot of work for each other. I would recommend either one, but Garry is building my motors right now
