WOW, The only time you have to visit OSO is at work !!!!!!!!! I guess that might be why your company cracked down........they need you to actually work at work.....crazy notion isn't it.

And they say outsourcing is the fault of the company. Hey, party on dude while you still can

I've been running into this myself over the past week.
I'm the Purchasing Manager for an Optical Co.

I accidentaly downloaded something that completely f-ed my work computer.
My greatest joy was to get into work and start streaming WRIF radio from Detroit - they have a great morning show. Now, my "IT" person is blaming it on streaming and I'm not allowed to listen any more.
I only check OSO while at lunch, but now I'm under the microscope...
So far this year I have saved the Co. $280,000 (would love to see that in my pocket - I don't even have a decent boat right now..) I think they can afford to let me listen to my hometown radio online.

I've been trying to get my "IT" broad to fix my comp for over a week - I'm limping on a machine that sometimes works - sometimes doesn't.
I placed a Grainger order yesterday for a few $$$Grand and my comp locked up. Not sure if the order went through or not.
It's stuff I need.
Do I re-order? Or would that order twice and completely F my monthly budget and the hassle of returning and re-stocking fees?

Will my order show up? - or am I gonna run out of things and shut down produvtion of the entire plant?

This Corporate/Micro-Mgmt crap is getting to be too much....

I love my job, Just give me the tools (my comp, and phone) and leave me alone. I bust my a$$ as work. give me a few luxuries that I've earned - all I want is OSO while I eat lunch, and WRIF streaming all day - is that too much to ask?

There they go, taking away all the perks.... Next will be your Health Care Ins if they haven't already....

Could you imagine if the Police Departments decided to make it department policy that they would no longer be allowed to visit donut & coffee shops?
They would use the excuse that it cuts into their productivity and patrolling time...

I don't think there would be much of a force left if they ever tried to do that....
