Re: Who Voted?
gwb last tuesday.
Noticed something odd today, though. I had to go to the lake house to drop off some coax cable for the guy doing some remodeling over there. Had to pass THREE polling locations to get there. What I noticed:
1) All of the locations (two elementary schools and one church) were PACKED to the gills, with cars bursting out of the parking lots, and lining the streets on both sides.
2) All three polling locations were staffed with volunteers waving and holding signs with candidates' names on them. Lot and lots of signs standing along the roadside. Could virtually see every conceivable candidate's name on all of the many many signs in the yards of the polling locations.
3) The polling location closest to the house had all the same waving volunteers and all the signs except for one noticeable omission.... No Kerry volunteers. No Kerry signs. Not a single one. In a sea of probably 80 to 100 signs, not a single Kerry sign.
I just found it odd...
A friend called after he left the voting location (the one I just mentioned). He said the wait was a little over an hour at 7:15am. He saw one oddity. He said that during the hour he was there he saw as many as 40 people turned away from the polls. He said they had shown up expecting to "register" and then vote on the spot. He said one group of them had shown up in a cargo van with three Kerry stickers on the bumper. He found humor in it. Called them morons. I'm sure he meant that they were morons for thnking they could register and vote on the spot, not because they were Kerry supporters...

Re: Who Voted?
Just got done voting. Took me about half an hour at the local high school. Many young people voting, I find this encouraging.
