Sure sounds like he's trying to sell it as something it's not. From those pictures it doesn't look like a boat I'd want to go out in if someone just repairs the cosmetics. Hopefully no one will buy it from the description given planning on putting the hull back together.
Almost sounds like fraud to me.

Hi Fred,
I am also glad that everyone is ok, I'm sorry for the loss of that beautiful Apache.
You know, we all dread dealing with insurance companies associated with our hobby. I'm just curious, did everything come out ok with your insurance co?

Sorry girls and boys...the ad is disingenous and misrepresents the condition of the boat.
A three foot crack down the hull = " no damage to hull " ??...I don't think so.
Like I said, if it was repairable and worth it , then Fred would have fixed it....period.

Okay, the PICTURES of the drives show complete skegs on both of them. I will assume that the guy had some welded on.
I cannot fathom a guy not returning calls on big ticket items such as these. He did call me back this morning, but left only his phone number as a message. I have called him again and left him messages again. "Tag!"
These are for a friend's boat and Marine Performance in StLouis will be doing the install. He says they have located a pair as well and have a deposit on them. Sounds like they may have a deposit on the same drives... Whatever gets bought will get the cases split and inspected by MP before the deal is closed.
Interesting story. Very interesting.
Sad for the boat.

A #6 or any other drive that is going to be ''surfaced'' should not have the skeg welded back on no matter how good the weldor is or how good he thinks he is. The lower housing needs to be replaced.

Interesting this pic is fresh out of the Classifieds, sure looks as though the
skeg is busted to me.
As far as welding them though, talk to Matt @ TNT I'm pretty sure they
weld them??
