Got a second generation Russian model. Single lens.
It's a bit grainy but you can darn sure see at night with it.
At this price level ($275) it is nothing like the stuff you see in the movies but it does amplify light impressively.
If you are talking about driving a boat at high speeds with it, I say NO.
