It's been SO LONG I have a hard time remembering. Actually I think I parked off to the side on the grass of the little road that runs alongside US41 that leads to the parking area and the ramps. I remember the parking lot was full and most of the larger spots taken up by those little boats and pissed me off. Especially when two of those little boats could easily have doubled up in the larger parking spots for the bigger boats to leave some of the other ones free. They should not let those little boats in the bigger boat parking areas. I have actually talked to my "bud" Lou Anne Palmer (city commissioner) about this issue. She said she would work on it.

On another note, the city is trying to acquire land adjacent (north) of the parking lot area to add more parking spots.

It's crunch time. Home from work, two days off to get the boat finished. Barring any unforseen (hmmm, seems like I've said that MORE than once now) I should make it.

It may not be clean, it may not be waxed, but if it's floating and running under it's own power, I'LL TAKE IT.

I've got a buddy who lives around the corner gonna give me a hand tomorrow with the install of the new exhaust tips. I'll be inside handling the hose and he's gonna insert them from the outside.

Hyatt is sold out for those wanting to stay the 31st. I booked just south of the ramp at the Wellesley Inn Sarasota for half what the Hyatt wanted 109.00. Gonna be in Tampa most of the 31 night so it just for sleep.

I thought start time was 11:45 start your engines and throttle up at 12:00 HIGH NOON.........

Hey guys. I am sorry to say that our trip to Tampa/St Pete did not pan out. I wanted to go down to Tampa to see some family over New Years and to run the boat. They wanted to come here to Maryland to do some duck hunting. I lost. Well, not really. I still get to see them, but I don't get to run the boat, or at least not the Apache anyway. We figured that we can go to Florida to run the boat any time, but the hunting seasons come and go. I guess that fair is fair. So, I will be heading south before too long because I am really itching to get some more hours on the boat and I don't want to wait for spring. I am sorry that I could not make the New Years run, but I will get down there as soon as possible and the first round of drinks will be on me!

If it makes you feel any better, here is the boat that I will be running this weekend. This picture was just taken just a few days ago. It looks like it is about time to start leaving the engine down to keep it from freezing. You know that it's cold when the salt water is freezing! :eek:

Hot Duck, Man that just looks plain cruel. Sorry to hear about your postponing your trip but I fully understand about hunting season. There are few things I miss nearly as much as deer season every year in Maine.
