Neat looking boat.

So how is this layup method different from SCRIMP, a process used by Hinckley and a few other high-end builders?

Since I am put on the spot for climbing out on this limb. And do not know the methods used by Hinckley and a few other high-end builders.

I would have to say the proprietary linear foam core and the proprietary fabric weave. Everything else?

This is a family 27' deckboat man.

I was aware that some yachts and sail boats had used this method but did not know the names.

Good luck Wes and everyone at Trident. So far so good.

I saw them at SEMA this year. The boat looks sharp.

Here you go man. It was in their latest update and can only be viewed for registered folks. I will cheat and provide the link.

The video is DIVX encoded. If you do not have DIVX you can download the codec for Windows Media Player or their player HERE

Trident Boat #1 Resin Infusion.
Right click and save the above video link is the best way. It is 35 megs large.

I'm having some trouble thinking of the difference between a proprietary linear foam core and a conventional foam coring. Also would like to know some more about the proprietary weave, if possible. Thanks.

Once again, neat boat. Even better is that you are using this on a family deckboat.

Guys - I am just sharing the info. I'm not building the boat.

Have you been to the site? That and the video posted above has some explaination of your questions.

Have been busy and have not had a chance to look at it. Will do very shortly.

Sorry to have barraged you with questions- my apology. I seem to do that a lot.

No problem. You challenged me for the details and that is perfectly acceptable. Even though I am not involved in the hull construction I was the one that brought it up. I am involved with the remainder of the boat and very proud to do so.

I finally paid enough attention to Trident's method to notice what is so unique. They are doing this method over a sophisticated gel coat scheme. Which according to them is an industry first. Sonic has a similar process but as a comparison the boats are white and are then painted.

I was mistaken about the resin infusion itself being a first. But that process is very limited in the marine industry. And for sure a first in a deck boat.

The Trident hull is one of a kind also and they have patented it as a tri hydro design.

Looks like a cat? NO CAT INSURANCE.
