Theres to many to choose from,I need to learn alot more about them,I see alot of them only last 2 hours ,is that the norm???

How much brighter would these be over a 6 cell mag?

Whats a common one that most people buy in the 100-230 range.

Hmm. How to keep this short. Yes, most of them have lower hour life, this is due to the fact that they are mostly tactical lights which are designed for short bursts of pure clean white light not yellow colored with dark spots mixed in. They aren't necessarily made to turn on high and left on but the light beam is so much better than say a Mag light that you don't need to turn it on high and leave it. Thats also why most of them have multiple output levels.

Not sure about a 6 cell Mag or most common in price range but I can find out pretty easy and let you know.

As a side note surefire has a new sister company called ICON that are fairly small and alot more affordable not nearly as bullet proof but.....

Right now the hot one is the LX2. It's 2 stage 200 lumens on high and 15 lumens low.

More info on the Titan: Another reason for it's price is it a true a variable output light 0 to 70 lumens and everything in between. Look on the bright side when the original Titan T1 not T1A came out it was $500.00. It had a true titanium casing and a real crystal lens.

To that end, Post #5 is probably the most honest answer ever posted on OSO.LOL.....(I clicked "LIKE" to a posting from 13 years ago - must be winter)

Just went out couple weeks ago so I upgraded. Check this baby out :D it snaps on the top of a 9V battery and with the higher voltage the LED's are driven harder, it's bright as fak :D . . . . . Oh this thing was $5 with the battery lol . . . . See ya in thirteen more years :picard1:

Interesting thread.......

I bought a radio (set in a model of the Mark Twain paddle steamer) in 1974. Nothing special, just a gimmick. Cost about $5 from memory. Didn't use it much and pulled it out of the cupboard in1989 to give it away and it still worked!

One 9v battery, no leakage and worked fine. The battery brand was a 'Berec' and I heard a story that Eveready bought the Berec battery company just to stop them making batteries that last indefinitely!
