Default What's with the .ORG's

I'm trying to figure out why companies like TAOD (www.taod.org) and Sterling (www.sterlingperformance.org) have .org websites. I thought a .org was only for a non-profit company.

Somehow I don't think the money from these top dollar paint jobs and top dollar engines are going to charity.

Does anyone know if the .org designation is no longer for charity? Am I missing something?

The internic opened up .org to registration for any purpose about a year ago. It's no longer deemed as just non-profit.
