Re: Boats Compared To Cars
That's not bad, but how many other Baja's have the same paint?

And to the people that are asking about the paint job, big deal. Lots of people don't have thousands of dollars for paint. Paint doesn't make the boat. I've seen all white Outerlimits. you have seen all white OL's? |

Re: Boats Compared To Cars
Personally,
I kinda view my 26' Sonic similar to my first car, a 1983 Chevy Monte Carlo. I loved that car just like I loved that boat. Rock solid, classic lines, built like a tank, and always gonna be around. I kick myself everytime I see a similar cherry MC, for selling mine. Similarly, I view my 37' AT like my 1987 Trans Am. My buddies had IROCs, which were light and fast without the ammenities of my TA. We all had the same 350TPI and 700R4 tranny, but I had 7 way power seats, 6 channel amp with subs, nicer paint & color(beautiful Midnight Saphire Metallic), digital dash, (looked like KITT), T-Tops, and trick (for the era) pop-up headlights etc. I was a little slower in the 1/4 due to all the amenities, however I was always right on their bumper on cannonball runs; and I always looked slicker than they did, as the ladies always wanted to ride in the TA, not the IROCs. (Granted, if I was in Jersey... IROCs are still king. :D ) I like my AT over my Sonic, but I will never forget the MC or the Sonic. I sold the TA to get a more feasable daily driver, which is probably along the lines of why I might someday sell the AT, as I will want to go 60mph with a stateroom and a stand-up stripper pole below decks (Donzi 39ZSC/Formula 40SS). Funny how history and hobbies repeat themselves. |
Re: Boats Compared To Cars
any offshore baot is equal to a GT1 race car. Heavy as hell (even thelightest skate is still a heavyt piece of equipment), huge v8 power, don;t exactly turn ona dime, rebiulds are a bloody fortune, they break **** all the time AND they cost a bloody fortune to run/operate.

Disclaimer:
The above posting is a joke. It is intended to be funny, not taken seriously. It is a work of fiction and any resemblance to actual Apaches(tm) is purely coincidental. :D :D :D |
Re: Boats Compared To Cars
I'd have to say Formula=Checker Cab. Built well, sturdy, not the fastest or the sexiest but I couldnt break mine and god knows I tried.

Re: Boats Compared To Cars
I'm a little late on seeing this thread...
Donzi = Dodge Neon or cadillac?? I think you need to go back on the meds if you think its like a Neon! :p As for the latter... I will say that there is nothing big, slow or comfy about our classics (18 and 22). Maybe comfy if you're cruising along with a little bit of a chop or my mom is in the boat. I will say though that I've never ridden in the bigger ones. I love the flying abilities of the smaller ones too much :D Those of you who know me, already know what I have to say about Baja ;) :D And Allan4 is definitely a Putz :D |

Re: Boats Compared To Cars
You guys are funny :drink:
I get a lot of bang for the buck on my 32 Baja. I don't think much of paint jobs either. I'd rather spend $ elsewhere. Of course Baja gels their graphics.... |
