Which Boat Would Be Comparable To What Car. I'm My Opinion A Cigarette Could Be Compared To A Ferrari. It Might Not Be The Fastest But Sure Is The Sleekest Car On The Road In My Opinion. How About Yall, What Boat Is Compared To What Car In Yall Opinion

I wouldnt go Cig-Ferrari. I dont consider Cigs that exotic or rough. The european sports cars IMO are pure performance with next to no regard for creature compforts. A Cig with a cabin and sunpad is my like a 500 series benz to me.
The Ferrari is more like a cat.
Sunseeker = Bentley
Porsche = Skater
Benz = Cig
Baja = Camaro

I tried and can't do it...not comparable to cars on a one to one basis.

But like with cars you have production and custom builders. The price range varies a lot more with offshore's than with cars. Every boat is "branded" with the company's definition of what it stands for and says to the public which translates into "image". Speed; Styling; Quality and Durability are the three key variables.

Having said that here is what I think each boat stands for as portrayed by it's company and owners:

-Cigarette..."A legendary Obsession"

-Formula..." A tradition of excellence" (Until Troutly bought one :D )

-Fountain..."Join us in the winner's circle"

-Baja........."Speed changes you"

-Pantera...."A nimble boat that handles the rough stuff"

-Active Thunder..."A combination of performance and pleasure"

-Outer Limits......"The art of high-performance luxury"

-Sutphen....."Safest fast boats"

-Velocity....."Excitement comes standard"

-Sunsation...."Building boats worth owning"


Advertising defines a brand they say and this is what they want us to "feel" when thinking about their brand through advertising.

Besides, you Apache guys are so easy to get riled up. Your post is proof of that. You dont think the BAJA guys get sick of the cookie cutter jokes. Actually, we just laugh along with you. Somehow I think Apache takes more crap than Baja but hey, maybe I missed a few threads. Some of the sensitivity ( at least mine ) comes from the fact that the Apache jokes aren't usually jokes...it gets downright nasty. See the Apache thread a few spots up....

I really hate when someone pokes fun at someone elses boat...I don't care what it is..your Baja is as important to you as my Apache is to me. :cool:

Yeah, Ive heard Cookie Cutter more than anything. Its all in good fun. BAJA is a good boat for the money, but it just wouldnt be logical to compare them to Apache or Outerlimits or even the beak! :D Mine are jokes, just taking shots at the guys that will throw down a challenge. But, I see what you are talking about, some guys are serious when they put down Apache. Its all in good fun.

I'll be the last guy to ever make fun of someones boat. I would rather be in any brand of boat than sitting on the shore watching. Hell, we've showed up to the islands on a 19' Maxum and partied like Rockstars. Beats taking the ferry! :drink:

Good one! I agree. The Cig isn't an exotic like the Ferrari. On the other hand, unless you are speaking of older Porsches' (930's) the newer Porsches' might be a bit more luxorious than a Skater. I guess it depends on which model Skater you are referring to (definately not 32's and up) A newer 911 would not compare to a 28 (in my opinion) Ive been looking into 911's and think I would maybe compare it to an MTI?? What do you think?
