Look at the water trap hatches. Why you would put a recessed hatch on the top deak of a boat is beyond me. Here is another picture of a water trap. When the boat was in the water it angled down and held enough water to completely cover the hatch

I don't have time for all this crap. I'm still trying to figure out why I wasn't born a rich child, with rich parents and a really hot nanny. Not the one that Freddie Mercury had, either.
