Struggling airline employees that accept wage, benefit and work rule concessions cause a ripple effect in the other airlines.

Regardless if it is necessary to preserve everyone's job.

I'm sure if the shoe were on the other foot they would do the same.

You probably know better than anyone, its a lose lose situation for everyone involved, and there are no 100% innocent parties either. Crappy management decisions and our government bailouts have played every bit as big a roll as organized labor. Some people never learn, "you give a mouse a cookie...he'll ask you for a glass of milk." Handouts do not fix problems.

Note to Scott Sumrall:

For $456.00 you made yourself a recurring joke on OSO.

I didn't even start this one!

Thanks Tantrum.

Unions do not fix problems either. They make no money and simply perpetuate themselves.

I was a pilot for US Air for 14 Years. A real company guy, I helped when needed. Snowstorms,Middle of the night, ect. I worked every Christmas and New Years for 13 years. On a pager 24 hours a day 20 days a month, ready to fly a 767 within 90 minutes. Most all weekends and holidays. Try having a life living this way. I had built up enough sick time to take almost a year off. I was rewarded with 1878 other US Air pilots with being laid off and my retirement trashed. US Air has great employees, its the only reason their still in business. Managment on the other hand has been poor at best, but always seems to get a multi-million dollar golden parachute for thier failures. It's always the employess fault. I have to get off this thead before I blow a gasket. Doug
