i understand what you guys are saying with the fan base. what some of you guys dont understand is and its a plain as day.. if you look at the teams that were great, not for a year or two but great for years and years. its not their payroll its the farm system. core players. front office, scouts, it all plays a major roll in how a team does. the Yankees are not great cause they have money, its cause of the rep they have built with theior core players they have signed over the years. if you put into perspective when free agency broke the back of the game is was not teams like the yankees that prevailed. do we forget how happy all of you were during the 80s. if was a very tough time as a yankee fan, what fans see in the bigs is only the end of a deal that affects a bunch of lives and careers. i know i was one of those lives. money does not make a team or persons better it only appears that way. think about it how many rich dudes suck, and appear that they are gentleman. its much deeper than you guys think, its a shame we only think its money why teams are great, and it has little to do with good people.

Just like a typical Yankee Hater..... When the new collective bargaining agreement was voted in, the votes were 29 to 1... the 1 being the Yankees.
So now we have the Yankees PAYING 86 million to MLB and the other poor teams and everyone still crabs about it.... do some research for God's sake.... typical Sox fans.... dumb and dumber. Cry me a dam river... the spending over the last 4 years has gotten the Yanks nothing! and you still crab.... Just shut up already!
The Sox have been pissing and moaning about the Yanks spending and THEY VOTED YES for the current agreement.... what a joke. The Sox win it all last year despite under spending the Yanks and still crabbing! You dont buy championships. You go out and play for them and it doesnt matter how much you get paid.
The bottom line is that whether you get paid 10 million a year or 100,000.... you still need to go out and play... hit the ball... throw a pitch.... etc etc.... how much you get paid doesnt matter... you still need to play. :mad:

The Yankees are working within the perimeter dictated by MLB and voted upon by all the teams...
Why doesnt anyone ***** about Billy Beane haording all the young talent... that organization is like a farm system for MLB. And Billy Beane has won crap!!!!!!!!! He is a joke. Hasnt won anything and he gets all sorts of respect. Obviously his way doesnt work. The money doesnt matter.... get over it. The Yankees are the best team ever assembled. Live with it. They strive every year to win it all. Period. That is a winning team. Best talent doesnt win crap... best players do.

I am not sold on Pavano or Jaret Wright. I am sold on this being one heck of a team. The stuff Giambi was taking doesnt make you a better player. He should be fine this year... plus now we have Tino for insurance :D
