This year looks pretty dull based upon the auction list I've seen so far. They get more about the money and less about the show and quality every year. :(

Anybody know what a 1970 Buick Skylark GS 455 Stage 1 is worth? It is in average daily driver condition. Burgundy hardtop.

He also bought that 63' silver split window "fuelie" coupe, and a 66 "427/425 roadster. Not bad, picking up six Vettes in one day.

Did you end up with that car? Did you ever hear anything about that low mileage Pontiac that old lady was talking about?

that's the time to buy a car !! the guy that bought all the callaway vettes said they will only "appreciate" in value. the silver cpe was the baddest imho and the best price where else can you get a 257 mph car for 105 grand- nice , now if that would only work with boats :D:D

This was a repeat show from last year. Carroll Shelby's GTs stirred my shorts  Couple of Ford GT40s that went fairly 'cheap' ... one was 1998 Playboy Playmate of the Years. She offered, herself(!!??), a FREE ride, with the new owner, but declined an offer for a date to the new owner   :D

I have a chance to purchase one that I found at the Daytona Rod Run at Thanksgiving.
It's not a GSX, but I want to add it to my collection.
The guy was asking $10,500, but I think he's ready to sell.

I was talking about the list of cars that are already down for the auction this year. You can see them all on the Barrett-Jackson website. ;)

We used to go just to check out some cool old cars but now it's like $30 to even walk in the door. No thanks.

my neighbor owns rpm magazine and drove a gt40 the front end got light at just over 150. he said that woke him up. his daily driver is a clk55 with a blower 610 dyno hp @ the rear wheels, his weekend ride is an allwheel drive lambo diablo... tough life i guess... the orignal Gt40's owned lemans that 1,2,3, finish was awsome.

1970 Hemi Cuda $147,000
this is what i'd have bought one rare badazz ride. dayum 147k maybe next year.

A friend recently sold a 70 GSX for $14,000. It was intact, with a touch of rust bubble at the base of the black vinyl top. Red with white stripes. 12:1 Motor with MSD and headers. Ported heads. 10" TC. Ladder bars and air bag on rear susp. Factory fenderwells. Car ran low 11's and held a couple of records briefly. Still very street driveable with all exterior and interior completely intact and original (AM radio).

Re: Barrett-Jackson Auto Auction

10.5 would be a good price for it. However, the 70 and 71 stage cars are very hard to document. Look for a 'BB' code xmsn, a 3.42 or 3.64 posi rear end depending on automatic or stick. #'s correct carb, and a few other goodies, or of course, original paperwork. Head castings and stuff are all the same. 1972's have the stage 1 option right in the VIN #..... good luck and buyer beware. There's alot of fakes out there.....

If you are serious about the car, goto www.buickgsca.com the club website can help you decifer it it's a true stage car or not....

Don't go by what Barrett- jackson gets for them or you will be sorely disappointed. These cars are purchased by a few fortunate people, it's not indicative to reality. Just try to sell your hemi cuda anywhere else but Barrett- jackson and see what you'll get, about 1/3. These people are paying ridiculous prices to impress someone. And most all cars are from private collectors collections that they had spent more to restore them than what they will ever sell for, want real prices? check out the classic car blue books then deduct about 40 percent to get what a real person will pay!
