Gladiator with diesels - speed?
#41
If someone wants to toss out the coin I will be glad to build a diesel Arneson set up 41 that should break 100mph using Seateks.
Rik I am still trying to push this setup as we discussed at Miami just can't find a taker right now. I would for myself however have not seen any refunds from Bill Harris as of yet.

No one has done a new Cig yet. A few have discussed it and some claim they are just one broken Bravo away from trying it. Cig is pretty set on Merc drives both at the factory level and the dealer level.

Are there many traditional hulled cigs running with arnesons and bigger power? it seems most I see are rigged with the ssm's. A non-stepped Tg with 700's and ASD8's should equal an almost indestructable 85 mph rough water ride, I would think.

Del Sol,
Outerlimits had a 37' a few years back with Cat's in it.
Had two speed tranny's also, not sure of the drives they used.
Ran mid 80's, I had talked with OL regaurding my project and
that rig. Pretty interesting and OL was extremly helpful for not
even owning one of there rigs.

Hello Del Sol,
I own a 41 Cig with Cats and Arnesons. Actually it's in winter storage in LaSalle, ONT. If you would like to go for a ride in the spring just let me know. During the summer I keep it in Detroit. It's no rocket. About 55 max but as reliable as a Peterbuilt. I believe the weight is about 18000lbs. Ideal for Erie. Being a 4 boat owner, I am thinking of selling it but haven't gotten around to it. I just use it for day trips to PIB on weekdays. The new Yanmar and Seateck power really closes the performance gap. It's surprising there isn't more products offered with them. The cats are HEAVY but I'm sure the new lighter higher Hp motors would be a huge improvement in speed.

Airship--- Ya i'd love to go for a ride, usually over to the Bay every other weekend! If you're ever over to La Salle in the spring to look at it give me a shout I'd love to have a look at it.
What cats have you got 3208's? they were popular back in the day. Coupled to asd6's or 8's??
Send me some pics if you have any.

Del Sol,
Sorry for the late reply, I travel alot. But this long is no excuse. Sorry again. I did try to respond twice but my posting never went through. While I have been on this site for quite a while but post very little and hence am not very familiar with posting pics and such. Anyway I hope to the offer for a ride is still out there if interested. Maybe you could take a pic to post? Should be fitting out the Cig in May as out of town in late April.
