The way I see it, it would be a project boat, ripe for some Fresh, Biggie Motors, Budget, Mark IV, 496s (maybe with some head porting and big Hyd. roller cams??), Under $15k for both, and be done under $40k w 1100+ HP

Last time I checked, these sterndrives were car motors, I think that's why they call them "Chevy".
The coast guard requires 3 parts, a Carb, Flame Arrestor and Distributer.
Other then the clearences etc, how it is built,
they are all car motors.
