I ran across this old picture of the 1982 or 83 race in Detroit. Some great boats in here. I believe Betty Cook won the open class. It was a choppy day and she said she busted a bunch of stringers out of her boat. The boats are Sal Magluta's Sea Hawk, Jerry Jacoby's Ajac Hawk, Ted Toleman's Peter Stuyvesant, not sure about the black one, Crystal Gerstner in Blue Max, and Express.
