They did a test in one of the magazines on this 720 hp version and all they had to do was retard the timing slightly. I don't remember how much but I think it was on 2-4 degrees. Motor ran fine and still made almost the same power.
This shouldn't be to suprising. Alot of engine builders set them up at 11:1 on pump fuel being 91 oct.

Ed my cousin has a 69 camaro already w/ the ZZ 502 for sale now, he is getting ready to put on ebay, red black stripes cowl hood and rally rims, in perfect shape. Let me know if you're interested...Rob

... you'll need 110 octane or better. you wont find it at any marinas.
