Boris, I have a U-19 with 5.8L Duo-Prop. I have not had any issues with the trim sender on that one, but I also have a Four Winns cruiser with DuoProp that I have put two new senders in it. Seems that the wires coming out of the sender get fatigued from lower unit movement, then sever and no signal to the gauge. My steering in the U-19 is fine.

I just looked up a side mount control assy for my U-19 (getting sloppy) on the Livorsi web site and I see they're discontinued. Any one know of a good brand I can buy that's reasonably priced? Any input will be appreciated.

You can tighten the nut on the shift lever if that is what is getting "sloppy".

The trim switch is getting a little finiky also, but I will try pulling the panel off and tighten the lever for now. Thanks.

OK, got the panel off with great difficulty. My arms needed to be 6" longer and even skinnier. I don't see a nut to tighten. Does the whole shift assy need to come apart to get at it or am I missing something? There are 3 screws behind the lever pivot point but I don't want to take them out and create more issues unless I have to.

I'm fairly new to this site (a lot of observing). Does anyone out there know of anyone selling a u-19? I am looking for one with the D.P. and 5.8L combo with thru hull. I have been looking at different trader sites and cannot find the right one. I want to pick up the first year U-19 (1996). Any help would be great. Also, I was looking at other threads about more power from the 5.8 and if it would be worth the money and time to get 10 mph more out of the boats. What would be the best bet, other than tossing the motor and starting over? Thanks guys.

Are you still looking? Ive got a nice one for sale

jjdiv, if you need any info on the U19 let me know. I have been around these boats since 1995 and know a lot about them. I also owned one for awhile.

The windscreen does help quite a bit to keep the wind out of your face. You still obviously get wind though, mainly on the forehead. LOL

I cann,t seem to get my U-17 to lift out of the water like that. Mine has the fuel injected ford 5.0 engine with the Volvo Penta SX outdrive.

Any recommendations on the best bow lifting SS prop I can put on it to get it out of the water more ?

I own a nice 1996 U17 5.0 SX. I have reluctantly decided to sell it. I took the plastic off of this boat and ran it on it's maiden voyage in 1996. Very low ours and is ready for the water. I may take it out this evening. If interested call or text three zero 4 three nine 5 zero nine five 3. Todd Young
