Four Winns Unlimited U-19
#23
They are fast little boats. I was going up river one day in some pretty choppy conditions and there was a guy in a U19. He was maintaining at least 60 MPH. My wife was in the back yelling at me to slow down but I couldn't let the U19 go by.

It may be similar to a Donzi but it's not the same hull. The keel is round on the U-19. About a 6" radius at the transom. Powerboat blamed a lot of the handling problems on that. My wife and I live on a small lake and one of our neighbors owned a U-19. It seemed to be unstable, chine walked a lot. Another neighbor owned a Donzi 18. They would race and you could tell the difference by watching. The Donzi was far more stable. Sorry if this offends anyone, just telling it the way I saw it.

The donzi hulls are rounded as well. My U-19 has never Chine walked on me but it may be because I do not have the Duo. My Rig handles great. I really don't know where PB was coming from. Check out this pick of a Donzi - 16 . Its a 1996 - same year my U-19 was built. Take a close look at the rounded keel.

Davids - I think 4Winns did a few changes from the hull - probs part of the "Euro" look direction then. Rounded out the the transom corners/top. Think thats what PY was refering too.

I dont have a platinum or gold membership so I cant see those photos that you posted. If its a 21 superboat at the Eustis toys for tots rally with blue racing stripe and a Merc 200 then its my brother's.

I dont see how rounding the transom at the "corners/top" would affect handeling. Here is a picture of the back end of a U-17 I dont see anything rounded besides the keel that comes in contact with the water- same as a donzi. If someone could clarify for me Id appreciate it.

The 20' cig has a "radius'd" keel also.
Just my $ 0.02.
Heard the same dangerous at any speed rumor......might be the testers didn't know how to drive it. Does take a little getting used to?
