Pics are aways good! As far as the value? Hard to say. There are several that have been for sale for quite awhile. there aren't that many people willing to spend 100 to 150 grandfor a project boat. Even cream puff of that size and age in running condition will take alot time and money too keep it top shape.
Having said all that, I wouldn't mind taking on a 50 Cary project boat. I'm the kind of odd person that likes to spend all free time and money on a big old boat.
If I was repowering one it would get triple diesels and Arnesons! Now you are talking about 150 grand in just engines, trans. and drives. (assuming you are installing them yourself)That's not including all the other crap you have to buy just for the engine room. O.K. now it runs. We still haven't addressed upholstery, paint, cabinetry, etc. etc.
So I would say be very careful on what you pay for it.

I know the boat fairly well. It is a $300k to $400k project. Plus, unless you are going to use it as a fishing boat I'm not sure what you are going to do with the 500 gallon live well that was converted out of the aft cabin.

That video is great, I could go on and on with the way they drive a boat but watching that C 50 run was cool. And yes, I know the cat would have one and the C 50 would have been dead last, unless it had twin turbines. Like Nort showed, that would be perfect, tons of room, tons of transom, it is just a perfect set up...so do it. We have a few 50s, 70s and I think it is a 45, called Scary 45. I love the hydraulic hatch, that thing could launch a person.:D Plus the entire floor from the helm back went up, like 10x20:eek: He bought his in good shape for 80 or so. With 2 nice diesels you would have a great boat. That project one is a bare hull, it would cost 150,000+ so the hull should be free. Down load the clip, it is good. I am at 100 Mbps and it took about 3 minutes.

One more thing, those hatches are great for bottoms up viewing, we had a riot one day, we would have someone topside lure the women over the hatch by talking to them, then we would all look up....we tried to find women with shorts on hoping to see clam but we never did, we did see lots of camel toe though...:-))

I have a Myco trailer for a 50 Cary, tandem dually 22.5 semi set up with air brakes. Would like to sell it if anybody needs one.

I have air bags and a 1 ton rear from the lift but I may need to gusset the axle and diff if I want to tow that with the Excursion:D Is this a 2" ball or a 2 5/16ths:D That would be a pull, a decked out Freightliner 4 door semi would be a sight to see on the highway. I wonder what you would do at the ramp???:D :D That Cary is and always will be the poster child for a sport cruiser.
