Sure would like to but you know the deal. Actually we're planning a trip in early April for Hartwell and Murray.

Tonto, It sure could have been Kent, that sounds familiar . He was an older guy and super helpful to us "tourist". We really had a great time playing on the lake and the place we stayed was super cool. Log cabin, wrap around porch etc. We definitely want to return soon...well after th ice melts. :-) I wanna see the cove and see how crazy it is. We have gasprilla (sp?) here.......that is stupid crazy and I have never been by boat. Maybe in a rental boat.

Re: Lake Lanier

Lake Lanier is a good, fun lake. You can stay on the south end of the lake and have fun at "cocktail cove" or go north and have a tranquill experience.

There are only a couple of places to go on the lake, but not many, so, we usually end up making a party at someone's house, or having a raft up somewhere on the lake. Cocktail Cove is a fun place to hang out, but there is a much larger area of the lake to explore.

On the poker run, we should go ALL the way up the lake to the rowing venue to give everyone a real view of the whole lake. Then come back south and go for the Grilled Grouper at "UP THE CREEK"

Looking at July 16 as Poker Run date.

Robert I need your help in outlining some course checkpoints. I definately want the rowing venue to be one to give the faster boats some distance.

Hey Guys.....July 16th sounds Great.....
Stu is coming back and doing his Poker Run Aug 12 - 14
The other Marinas and I are working on breaking that Raft Up record out west...we'll need everyone for that.....we are going to do it on National Marina Day which is August 13th, the same day as Stu's run so his people can participate as well if they want...
We'll need every boat we can get to break that record....... :)

How are you guys going to do the Poker Run? Will you have to find your way with math equations this year? I plan on coming and can bring probably 10-20 other boats, but people have told me in years past, they didnt like the run because it was hard to figure out where you were going.

Was down in the cove on Sunday for a few a little while. Had a friend want to take out his new Carver. There is something to be said about being able to run the blender, and microwave while the boat is going.

Tonto 02-17-2005 08:07 AM

Re: Lake Lanier

Doug,
I know what you mean. It's even better come summer, you can have the A/C running while you're running that blender. Alot to be said for those slow amenity laiden SeaRay's. Come on SUMMER :drink:

The lake could use a little more water. Is the corp up to it's old tricks again? I don't think after that 5 year drought they learned anything.

Lakes only down a couple of feet but not for long with this rain!
Will have to find another boat for the Poker run. 24 Sea Ray won't be much good for a poker run. Keeps the family happy though.
