The link above to Tres' site would indicate day 2 is in boat sea trial.

I am interested in price - didn't see any reference to it in the literature. Also is the class offered year around?

Yes , But its a day in the class room. There is alot to learn, then you make it to the boat the next day.

I plan to take the class as soon as Tres has some experience in a high performance boat and has made a name for himself in Offshore Racing.

I think the class would be great. I've taken the course offered by the power squadran, which was packed with tons of great information. It was all classroom, 6 nites 2 hours each, with a 100 question test to pass. No driving boat time though. It was more safety, navigation and rules of the road type stuff. And it has been good for a 10% discount on insurance, which is a nice little chunk of change these days.

I wish they would offer some kind of class at LOTO, especially to some of the jet ski folks. Trying to keep a safe distance from them is like keeping a safe distance from the car in front of you on the Dan Ryan in Chicago. If you leave a few car lengths, someone pulls in. If I get jet skis buzzing around me I just shut it down. They get bored and go bug someone else.
