I Hate Thieves........
 

So I decided to run down to Race Trac to gas the boat up and grab a bag of ice tonight to get a jump on tomorrow. That way I can go straight to the ramp tomorrow and not have to backtrack. Besides I want to take Deb to see the John Lennon art exhibit first thing in the morning and this would save me some time tomorrow.

So I go gas the boat up. I run into the store to grab a bag of ice. There's one other person in the store and they leave the counter as I go to pay for the ice. I'm gone from the truck no more than two minutes maybe two and a half tops. I throw the ice in the truck, jump in, start it, turn on the lights, look in the side mirror to check trailer lights, and no trailer lights. WTF. I just rewired my entire trailer with all new LED lighting, it's like an 18 wheeler back there. Total darkness. Like an idiot I turn the truck lights back off and then back on, like that's going to do something. I climb back out of the truck, walk back to the trailer, and some azzhole stole my factory "connector" that plugs into the truck recepticle and then my trailer lights plug into that connector. My trailer plug is just dangling there. I looked around and couldn't see anyone. No cars at the pumps. I think I remember a car about two islands over, this is a pretty big station, like 8 "double" islands.

Just once, just once I'd love to catch somebody doing that. Just phucking once. That's all I ask, just once. :hothead: :hothead: :hothead: :hothead:

So while I'm standing there halfway between tearing the gas station down and having a major coronary, a Sheriff's cruiser pulls in. So I go over to him and as politely as possible throw a total fit about how they should cut the hands of thieves off. Anyway he follows me home so I can get the rig back to the house safely.

Guess who's driving in the daylight tomorrow with no lights?????? The ramp is only a mile away so phuck it. I can't replace it until Monday. :hothead: :hothead:

Russ, I've got two of them I don't need. Too bad I'm too far away to get them to you. They sell them at Boaters World and West Marine, both of which are open on Sundays.

Trailer is double locked to the truck and the "ball release" is always locked.

Guess I'm gonna have to figure out how to lock the damn connector in. Next one I'm gonna spray paint flor. orange.

Sorry for your loss. I hear ya. I had some one try to steal an outdrive from my driveway 2 years ago. Had it off to the last bolt and something scared them. I hear there was ring that hit the area and they got luike 15 outdrives and couple outboards. F ers

The neighborhood doesn't call the Doberman "Big Mouth Bernis" for nothing.

Ya thieves ..i have no use ..take em out and shoot em .. You work hard for your money so you can enjoy the things you want ..Then some jobless welfare recipient who thinks everything should be handed to them comes along .. Ive lost a snowmobile , a jet ski , and a toolbox full of power tools ..Heaven help the piece of $hit that gets caught by me :mad:

No chit. I caught somebody stealing the tape deck from my 70 Ram Air IV GTO convertible back in a movie theatre parking lot in 72. The top had just been replaced. My girlfriend wasn't feeling well and we had to leave halfway through the movie which annoyed me anyway. Walking towards the car I noticed my new top "flapping". Told Patty to lay low. I snuck up on them but my shadow caught one's attention and he hauled azz. The other one was lying on his back on the front seat floorboards with his legs sticking out the door, which I proceeded to slam the door on his legs hard as I could four times, breaking them both, very badly. Cops hauled me downtown for "overly aggressive behavior" or some stupid crap. Anyway they let me go after about three hours, I think it was the cop's way of "scolding" me. I mean isn't that the way??? I catch this dirtbag not only ripping off my tape deck but he'd knifed my brand new top to boot. And they yell at me?????? Should've cut his legs right the hell off.

Russ, is it the hard plastic adadpter that changes from seven wire to four?

I got one out in my truck, I'll grab it and shoot a pic. I only use it to jam the gas handle open on pumps that don't have the catch on it.

I know how you feel but be careful very careful when you ever catch up to one of those $hits!. :mad: They have rights to :mad: At least the one that spent 3 unwanted days tied up to a support pillar in the middle of my shop in St.Pete FL. back 1987 did. The court system thought it was a bit extreme. It didn't seem to mater that the $hit shot at me twice with 38cal. while it my shop. Should have killed him but inst ed the court system sent me on a short vacation. :eek: Shame on me for not doing the right thing. :eek:

Must be the year for connector thefts. A friend of mine had his window smashed on his Ford Focus while parked in his condo garage, so the the piece of cr*p thief could open the hood, and steal the ignition coil connector. What's next?

I had a Incident at my local station pulled up to the first row of pumps to the starboard side filled the tank, Got in the truck and pulled forward to move to the outside (port side)
as I was backing up a guy pulled up behind me blocking the pump I was about to use.
I stopped the truck and got out only to find the guy walking into the store I caught up to him and asked " sir I was about to use that pump could I please ask you to move to the other side" His responce ! Why don't you Go PHUCK yourself" I ain't movin. I was stuned
This guy was in his mid 50s and didn't appear to be a dirt bag.. I responded with You are just a model human being! I bet if your mother (if she was still alive ) would be proud of what you have become! I wanted to Beat the ++":"": out of him! I went back to the boat and waited he came out pumped 5.oo worth of gas and left ! If My wife and son were not with me Id be in Jail! Slightly off the subject but a gas station story!I too would like to just 1 time catch a theif in the act I just lost my in dash DVD out of my dually! good news they cut the harness and left the control unit under the seat ...2800.00 boat anchor they cant use! :mad: :mad:

Yeah, that's it. I looked in West Marine Catalog last night and looks like they've got one. I'll run up this morning to Sarasota where within two blocks there's a West Marine, Boat U.S. and Boater's World. Somebody ought to have one. If not I'll give Wal Mart a try. I don't like the idea of runnning without brake lights, if something happens my azz is toast.

Is that the winning LOTO ticket on the table????

This is the second one I've had ripped off. The first time was about the third or fourth time I'd used my boat after getting it, and parked it at the ramp parking lot with the lights still hooked up. Came back, loaded up and that connector/adaptor was missing. So from then on, when I park the tow rig, I unhook the lights and throw the connector into the "map pocket" in my driver's door. That's where home is for it.

About a month later I came back went to load up the boat and my license place was sitting on the fender. Someone had actually stolen the two mounting bolts. THE MOUNTING BOLTS.....:rolleyes: I had some basic hand tools locked in the cap of my truck and apiece of white lined masonite and had parked near a large tree. So I got a marker out and made a sign that said "To the Jerk that stole my mounting bolts....Here's a dollar.....Go by some cheap rope and hang your sorry ass....." and pinned a dollar bill to the sign. So now the tag bolts are "loctited" on, the "don't come off" formula Loctite.

This world has gone right down the sewer. And it all started when they took corporal punishment out of the public schools.

Cops tode me a long time ago how to make it a "legal" shoot. AND always shoot three times mid chest area, you know he'll die, and any more than three they consider "excessive".

I would love to see what three .40 calibre "Black Talons" would do to some thief.

me too, i got both of them there, with the diff polaritys, my Donzi trailer had something screwy.Thing is they sell them there where the theif could buy one too, what a concept? buying instead of stealing it!!!

That was cool of the cop to follow you, I went to pittsburgh yesterday to pick up my pit bull, on the way up about 2 miles from my house I got pulled over, we talked for a couple minutes and he wrote me a warning, well on the way back home with "Shades" all 90 lbs of him in my truck I got pulled over again, I explained to the lady cop and rolled down the back window, that i was just trying to get home and I know I was pressing my luck, she said yea, but gave me a warning as well. after 8 hours on the road, and both times I was within 5 miles of house. But they were both very cool, so there is a brightside to everything.

He shot twice at me never hitting me tho. We tied him up for three days. The plan was to stick him in the back of a Southern Transfer trailer and ship him to NJ. with some furiturner that Southern Transfer was taking the next day. Once in NJ the driver would open trailer doors and let him out. Courts did not see any humor in this plan either.
The problem is their were two thieves and the one that was the lookout and I never seen him. He called to get help for his bud after the three days of not seeing him.

Sorry FO. Didnt mean to get off subject but its kinda on subject. I use my dogs to scare off thieves. 2 pit mixes and 2 white shepherd mixes seem to do the trick :D so far :(

Years ago some scum stole my Oldsmobile right off my driveway ON CHRISTMAS EVE! Lost all my tools, parts I had purchased for upcoming jobs, a pair of props I had reconditioned for a customer, a repaired canvas cover, again for a customer.
The car was recovered on Dec 26th with the rear bumper, front grille, two tires and wheels, some dash interior pieces and the passenger side door inner panel, all missing along with everything in the trunk and my class II trailer hitch.

The tools were the worse thing to lose as I had accumulated many over the years and some had sentimental value because my parents had bought them for me when I was just a teenager.

My insurance company gave me the best hand-job I had ever gotten, which I expected. "Do you have receipts for the tools that you purchased in Chicago 16 years ago?" Yeah, I got your receipts RIGHT HERE!

It wasn't my fondest Christmas season.

I had my trailer plug adapter stolen at the launch last year. Mine now stays in the map pocket too. It's not the price but the fact that you're stuck without lights on a Sunday night. I have marked mine so if I forget to lock it up and it turns up missing, I'll spend the 10 minutes to check every trailer in the parking lot for it anytime I go out.
