Thank you, especially since it had been 369 days since the motors had been fired off.

By silent select I assume you mean typical thru-the prop by means of a "Y" pipe. Exhaust manifolds with short risers connected to diverters with slent select option of thru-prop or thru-transom. Works fine if you have a stock motor with cam duration under 230 degrees. If you are not stock reversion (water pulled back) will occur and ruin your motor. Oh yea...blower surge will cause reversion also. Water has to be injected into the exhaust stream at further point aft to prevent reversion. (Long risers)...Hope this helps you out.

I started a thread in the technical q and a section, probably a waste of time then. I have Lightning headers wich are extremely long, and a 502 mag efi with a Vortech Supercharger, once in while I get blower surge, usually when I'm docking and go in and out of nuetral, it usually only lasts a couple of minutes but it does happen once in while. So it looks like I made all the requirements to not add the silent choice. I really didn't want to add mufflers to the outside of the boat, maybe some inside the boat would be nice.

You got noise restrictions--we've got MANATEE hugger's that would impose idle speed only everywhere.

I'm thinking I could find tolerable mufflers of some kind that would be better than having to put up with the damned Manatee restrictions--especially since most of those :huggers" don't have boats and probably don't know a manatee from Flipper--

There is finally a serious effort to take the Manatee off the "endangered" list which of course has the SMC's panities in such a wad that they are up around their foreheads. Despite all their lies, twisting of facts, and just ignoring the truth, the evidence is just starting to pile up too much to ignore anymore, Manatees are, and have been for the last fifteen years, on the rebound.

There is still NO scientific evidence that pleasure boats whether on plane or idleing along are THAT much of a danger. Remember, 95 % of boating deaths of Manatees are caused by larger "commercial" type vessels. Not them ceegar boats.

Bottom line is that there are too many "officers or manager types" in the Save the Manatee Club that have high paying cushy jobs, and the only way they can keep these jobs is by playing chicken little and go around screaming "the sky is falling the sky is falling". Thankfully as every day passes more and more people are starting to see through them. We've got a LONG way to go, but the journey of beating these people has started.

With your permission, I'd like to have that sign made up and attach it to the back of my transom, just below the center pair of exhaust tips.

GREAT SIGN
