Value of Top Gun? Where's LS?
 

A friend is considering a 93 Top Gun with full cabin. Boat has crate 502's with blowers and SSM 3a's. In OK condition, but previous owner hasn't kept it real clean. Engines and drives will be torn down to inspect because we know how the current owner runs the boat. (WOT often, tops out around 80). Currently no known problems. On a decent aluminum trailer......what's a fair price to pay for it?

It's not the boat Nykamp is thinking of, that is a 94.

80mph on 600hp and 3A's??? I don't think so. If this boat has been abused and driven WOT he probably doesn't flush it either. Doesn't sound like a boat I'd want. How much is he asking?

Like Sloman said, make us an offer. We have 48 hrs on our 525SC (single carb. a lot less fuel used). Everything is new in the engine compartment and has always been flushed and well kept. It has a full cabin, swim platform, and even A/C. White dash with new white gauges. It is a carbon fiber lay-up with a Platinum Series paint. The boat runs 76mph on a light load. It must be seen to appreciate. Will make your friend a deal that can't be refused.

No, the boat at Doller has supercharged 468's. And correct, it wasn't a factory 3 boat, but all new parts were put in it and the X-dimension is correct. I should know, we rebuilt the boat.

LS. I considered your boat for me just before you bought it and also showed it to him a few days ago knowing it's for sale. My buddy's looking at a local (freshwater) boat that has been around here awhile. Another guy in our circle owns it. The boat is kept indoors but not scrubbed regularly like most of us would. It's run til something breaks, then gets fixed and run til something breaks (I wouldn't buy it either). He thinks he can get it for $70K-$75K. I suggest he look elsewhere, but he really likes that boat.
Anyway, what is it worth? Assuming a survey doesn't find anything serious.

If it was me looking.....I would look at Lucky's boat. It's clean, taken care of, etc......
I wouldn't buy anything that wasn't taken care of. It will cost you more in the end.

OK.. maybe my math is off because of the cold here but how can you have 48 when you have started 30 new threads about taking the boat out since the thread about breaking in the new motors. IF you started a new thread EVERYTIME you took the boat out and never take it out without starting a new thread then you can only average 1.6 hours each outing. It is a 20-25 minute idle each way from your house just to the inlet. so please explain how that works? you went boating on:

:D The powerplay is getting a makeover. It's getting new motors, rubrail, steering wheel,throttles/shifters, swimstep, fuel fills, etc..... I will be keeping it for a little while now.

I run my motors wot 75% of the time, if there built right they will hang. First hting I do when I get home no mater what time it is I flush them. Dont care about the neighbors, cant sleep with salt water in my motors. Stereotyping us who are not scared to run our boats hard, into a group that dont take care of them is flat out wrong.

Now, out of all the dates you posted that I went boating 9 out of 30 were on Sunday. This is funny becuase I go to school Monday-Friday and L.S. works Monday-Saturday. Therefore, the only day we don't work is Sunday and that is our boating day. Who is full of chit now?

JR. you are the one that just came out and started bashing the Maxx boat for no apparent reason, nobody asked for your opinion you just started running off at the mouth. If you want to talk about boats why don't we talk about yours? It seems as though you are always posting pictures of you and the rest of your family out on your boat, but for some reason the hours never change on your advertisement. Well you're right about kept high and dry, I seem to remember that boat being stored on a lift behind a condo complex in Delray probably about ten years ago. I think you should take Bob's advice and take another look at your dads boat, after all if you truly knew jack sh$% about cigarettes you would know that early 90's carbon fiber top-guns had structural issues. In fact most of them had to go back to the factory to get the floors cut out so the sides of the boat could be reinforced. If this hasn't been done to your dads boat it more than likely needs to be. You had mentioned before in a previous thread that you could literally take your thumb and push against the side of your dads boat and see it move back and forth.
