Default Insuring a boat w/o power???

I'm trying to find insurance for a boat I recently purchased. Its a '94 29' performance v-hull w/ triple axle trailer - NO POWER. I've already bought the boat and want to get a loan on it but obviously I need insurance to do so...any suggestions? I've tried Markel w/o luck.

Have you had any luck finding a compnay to insure your boat minus power? If so, who was it?

If anyone else out there has any suggestions of insurance companies who will do this it would be a big help. Thanks

I have asked my insurance agent (homeowners/car) and also Sy at Total Dollar. Nobody can seem to find anybody to insure a boat that will not be used (at least for lower cost). I thought about not using my boat for a year and just getting fire/theft on it. No luck. Anybody?

I can help you. Its done on a builders risk/yacht policy through a company that I have access to. I do a lot of these where the boat is bought as salvage, like at broke boat.com or certifiedsales.com

Call me if you like, 866-805-3691

I was able to insure mine ( a 31 Sea Ray without power when purchased)with State Farm as they didn't have to provide usage coverage. Talk to your homeowner insurance agent to see if he can help you out.
