So, here's the real poop.

That is not a paid story, in fact I don't believe McManus even advertises with EBM. That story started with a press release put out by McManus. I found the release to be confusing and missing a few items that I wanted to know so I had a few long talks and emails with Mark that resulted is that article.

I don't sign articles in "as the prop turns" as I write (usually) the whole "Prop" section in the front of each issue.

Mark was adamant about never using steps. He doesn't like them, feels they are dangerous and makes the boat behave in a non-friendly manner. For Mark, the Apache brand is just one of the trademarks that he can build boats under. He seems like a real stand up guy that shoots straight from the hip. Obviously he'll do the right thing and continue the Apache tradition by building great boats.

As for the Indian head logo, don't look too hard at it, not sure where we lifted that from. Possibly from a photo of the logo I took while doing the article on Hot Duck's 45' Apache.

It's nice to know you guys actually read the articles and not just look at the photos.

Wow confusing, the editor said it was a news release but I see how that mix up could have occurred. Thanks for clearing it up, I knew we could count on you. You should know by now this group reads everything

And we have a bizarre atraction to anything that says Apache.

I found it that way at www.apachepowerboats.com. Must just be another variation. Jeez, I've gotta stop staring at the thing...it's got me hypnotized................did someone say something about available property in the everglades?? :-)

I can't even imagine how much Thad lost on that 'episode'...
