I found this story in this months Extreme Boats Magazine most interesting.

After months and hundreds of posts of BS and agendas it appears that the "Real Truth" about the Apache saga has now been exposed.

I read this and then went back to a lot of the major Apache threads and the agendas and the "covering my ass" posts and now it is all crystal clear

I know , I know - I have no idea what I am talking about but I also took the liberty to review the court records (public knowledge) with my friend who is an attorney and translated for me and it appears that some serious Chicago to Chicago screwing went on.

Thad, sorry about your naivety. Mark, good luck in your ventures. And those of you with the smoke and mirrors should be ashamed of yourselves.

WELL, Jack Lieske (AKA cashbrain) was the one that "sold" the name to Thad even though he never owned the name or trade mark, even though he has claimed over and over that he does/did, but has yet to ever once step up and show one shread of FACT. My findings conclude that there will never be any proof in black and white to support that he ever owned apache or the trade mark

It will be hard to ever know all the details on this saga. Seeing the way they copy is laid out, I am wondering if it is a paid advertisement, not really a story. Usually when Extreme does an article the writer signs it, and of course they have those beautiful pictures Ron is famous for.

The step was in there before Scott bought it ... but I believe he redid the step . Not a "factory" step though ....

I noticed a small detail some of you might find interesting, or maybe not.

I noticed that the indian head logo used in that article above is the version Thad used back when he thought he owned the name. It is nearly identical to the one Mark uses only it has a blue stripe on the head dress. (see post #1)

McManus's indian logo has a red stripe in the head dress (see avatar to the left). Mark uses this version exclusively now.

Bear with me for a second here.....so, If this was a paid advertisement by McManus, why then would he choose to use the logo with the blue stripe???

I'm not so sure this is a paid advertisement after seeing that.

It appears that every other logo in this entire thread (whether red or blue stripe) is looking in the opposite direction than your logo. Why is that???

I just confirmed this with Extreme's editior it is neither a paid advertisiment or an article. It is a news release from Apache.

News releases are a great way of getting free advertising and publicity, which seems to be happening here :D

So, here's the real poop.

That is not a paid story, in fact I don't believe McManus even advertises with EBM. That story started with a press release put out by McManus. I found the release to be confusing and missing a few items that I wanted to know so I had a few long talks and emails with Mark that resulted is that article.

I don't sign articles in "as the prop turns" as I write (usually) the whole "Prop" section in the front of each issue.

Mark was adamant about never using steps. He doesn't like them, feels they are dangerous and makes the boat behave in a non-friendly manner. For Mark, the Apache brand is just one of the trademarks that he can build boats under. He seems like a real stand up guy that shoots straight from the hip. Obviously he'll do the right thing and continue the Apache tradition by building great boats.

As for the Indian head logo, don't look too hard at it, not sure where we lifted that from. Possibly from a photo of the logo I took while doing the article on Hot Duck's 45' Apache.

It's nice to know you guys actually read the articles and not just look at the photos. :p

I found it that way at www.apachepowerboats.com. Must just be another variation. Jeez, I've gotta stop staring at the thing...it's got me hypnotized................did someone say something about available property in the everglades?? :-)

Yah, doesn't sound like he ever will, I asked because ours is a single steped 36. And I know there are some twin steped 36's out there too. But maybe only Bob S buil the step bottoms.

Considering how members of the White Mountain Apache tribe feel about having their likeness used, I'm surprised that they haven't sued to stop the commercial use of an Apache warrior chief (possibly Geronimo).
Although it also looks like the Indian who used to stand next to the highway in the 70s and cry as Burger Chef bags hit the ground near his feet.

First the white man stole their land. Now this. When will it end?

I thought I had a picture of that 36 Apacatche at the 2002 Miami boat show with tiny steps......but all I found was this pic of King DAP and Chief Dap in a taxi. Don't go out if ya can't keep up with the BIG DOGS!!!! :D :D :D :drink: :drink: :evilb: :evilb:
