By "race hull", I mean like the 'fastest V-hull' configuration. Kinda like Firewater, or ZNETIX, or Rio Roses, but with an open cockpit, as opposed to the canopy configuration.

The new 42 PR just isn't quite the same look.

The new 42 Poker Run is basically a race boat. Sit-down, no cabin, full stagger, about half the sheer of the pleasure version. Well into the 100's with the new 600's.

I didnt mean unstable as in chine-walking. I meant on the edge of going-over backwards. As far as rocker, I've never seen any in any other Fountain Ive seen. But, I'm almost postive the new 42 PR (sit-dwn) had some at the stern. In that kilo-pass, that 42 looked like an overgrown bass-boat running w/ the bow pointing to the sky like it was. Im not knocking fountain by any means, just stating what I observed.

Cool Re: Outerlimits Working Hard On New Spped Record The Facts

As of two separate editions of tests in Powerboat magazine(March 05 and April 05) the Outelimits 39 Quattro with staggered Mercury Racing 525's ran 96.9mph at 5400 rpm's on radar and 95.8mph on the GPS. The 42' Fountain Poker Run Edition with the same power ran 98.7mph on radar and 96.8 on GPS.

If anyone wants to go by tests it appears that the Fountain is about 2mph faster with equal power.

doesn't the quattro have a cabin?

wouldn't a better match be a GTX? 37 or 39?
