anyone know this cafe???

1 Attachment(s)
A friend of mine is looking at Cigs hard. He wants to go look at this cafe. It's got the be the most expensive one out there, but look at the attention to detail on this rig. Anyone know the boat/ owner. What would it be worth? My guess was 100K-110K tops.

Re: anyone know this cafe???

I would guess 80-85K Max. It really doesn't matter how nice the owner (or broker  ) thinks it's is, it's an 11 year old boat and the engines have 166 hours on them. A boat is worth exactly what you can get someone to pay for it!!!! :D

Tell your friend that I'll sell him my Bullet for 100K. It's got newer engines, paint and interior...and is faster!!! :D :drink:

Great looking Cafe Race! If he likes it and it surveys well, make an offer.
110,000 tops.
Good Luck.

Its pretty for sure and seems well maintained, but hats alot of money for a cafe,he could get a TG for less.Dan B on the board has a sweet cafe for sale too, its in the classifieds.

Re: anyone know this cafe???

After looking at the ad a little closer, I've got to say that it's a very nice boat...but have your friend look at all of the Cafe' Racers out there and what they are advertised for. Keep in mind that boats rarely sell for the asking price!!!

I'll up my ante on what I think the boat is worth...90K

Re: anyone know this cafe???

What up Russ, Very nice, IMCO's polished lowers, everything 'looks' well maintained for sure. Re-done rear seat and interior look mint. Engines also look great. I w/ C223 and Offshore, the boat is still few years old, w/hours on the mills and you can def get a TG for that money, assuming a TG what be something you'd want compared to a Cafe :)

I'd be offering way less than his $129,000 asking price and would think more in the 90K range ... probably insulting as h3ll from where "he's" at, but #$%* &% it's my money! :D :D

Re: anyone know this cafe???

80... if you really love it and have to have that one. like was said before it's 11 years old with some time on the motors. besides at that price i'd have to look at a top gun!

Re: anyone know this cafe???

It is always amazing to me how some of you guys respond to a posters questions!!! The question was do any of you know this boat???? Not what would you do? or what is your choice in boats!! Why would you try to convince a buyer to buy a Top Gun, when, he is looking at a Cafe????

Look at the extras on this boat ,,,, 540 engines ,,, Imco upgrades and the upgrades on the engines and engine compartment!!! If the dollars to do those things were on the table in front of you,, this would be a 80-90K piece ,, however if you take those same dollars and put them in the boat ,,,, now maybe the boat is closer to the asking price,,,, come on now ----- you get what you pay for ..

Yes ,, I know this boat ,, it is very clean,,, it runs well,, the speeds in the real world are not misrepresented . I think your friend and you should take the time to check this boat out, If he wants a nice Cafe,,, It is the real deal!! RHC

Re: anyone know this cafe???

It is owned by a detailer from the Atlanta area, I meet him a couple of years ago while we were both on the Jacksonville poker run. He didn't have the boat there, but we talk boats all weekend, he's a nice guy. Tonto should be able to give you a frist hand take on it they both boat on Lake Lanier. I believe the owners name is Paul, and I know he put a ton of cash in the boat. Steve

.............................

My question was fairly generic and I want opinions. My buddy actually wants a TG, but likes the looks of this boat. I've told him what I said in my first post...that this looks to be worth more money than any other Cafe I've seen, but not 130K.
As someone said...It's worth X amount of MY money, may be worth more of someone else's.
RHC....Thanks again for the feedback, I assume you know the owner. It's obvious he has taken care of it.

500,s ,, Yes, I do know the owner,, about 5hrs worth,, when my drive broke in Sav. 3yrs ago they were nice enough to take us to town on Sun... The boat is clean ,, well taken care of ,, and Mec. well presented ,, I can not speak to its value, that is between the seller and the buyer... I respect your answer to me . I just watch this board alot and to many times People try to get off the question by giving there own desires and position,, which have nothing to do with the question!! Havin said that I hope your friend finds the right boat for him,,,, after all ,,, its about the quality time one spends using his boat ,, not the time spent working on it.
Unless of course its TOO OLD!! :D :D

Boat looks super clean.

If he pays that price he will kiss $40-45k good bye instantly in value.

Like Craig said around $80k.

RHC, first off I complemented the boat, it is a pretty boat and well maintained. I made no remark concerning the owner, for him to keep his boat in this shape I wouldnt be surprised that he is a good guy that respects people and equipment, most that take pride in thier own do. I merely stated that that was alot of money for a cafe, as I just was looking at cafe's, TG's and finally found the Tiger I bought. I even suggested another meticulously kept cafe of a member here to look at as a comparison, maybe not item for item as Dans cafe is NA, but none the less, a cafe'. It is HIS money and he can spend it anyway he sees fit, mentioning things to help a freind of another member to make an educated decison isnt a bad thing, dont be so thin skinned. NOONE said it was a bad boat, craig even came back after re reading the ad and changed his post. I can speak as a buyer though, because I just went through it, and the words from some of the people here educated me on what to look for and what to look OUT for... Dont forget that the sum of the parts may be worth more than the whole...Rob

Went over the tax issue with the CPA late last week. I am going to sit on it for now. If I can bust my a$$ and increase my income enough between now and this summer I'll be ok. Otherwise, I'll have to unload it to pay next years taxes.

Nope ... one of the questions was "anyone know this cafe?" the other question was "what would it be worth" .. which then opens the door, wide open, to all the $$$$ and TG comparisons .... and some of us did qualify saying "assuming a TG would be something you'd want compared to a Cafe" ;)

Everyone complimented the rig ... and even spoke about the 'upgrades' ... still doesn't change it's a 1994 Cafe.

Sounds like a personal testimony ... from someone who 'knows' the boat ... exactly what Russ was looking for in response to one of his questions. Good job RHC :D :D It is a very nice piece and now with RHC's endorsement we'll see just what it SELLS for. ;)

Re: anyone know this cafe???

I know the boat and owner.Alittle high on the price according to market value, but you will not,and I mean will not find a nicer more well taken care of boat in the worl. The owner is a great guy and owns a detailing company.I have personally ridden and worked on(oil changes, fluid changes and what not)and the boat is immaculate both mechanically and appearence wise. The owner is the most anal retentive person about his boat than anybody I have ever seen, but a great guy.If you want a great looking turn key 82mph Cafe this is it.

Re: anyone know this cafe???

No Problem Guys!! :D :D

I had just finished reading a thread that ask some questions/opinions about a specif boat and the answers were all over the place,, hence the attitude on my part ,, I apologize ... however ,,it still comes down to buyer and seller coming to a mutual understanding and hopefully all end up happy!!

Just Once: Thanks for your compliments ,, Look forward to Summer!
Offshore Drill- No offense taken ,, and none met to be given... all in the context of the questions :D

as I said ,, its on the high end ,, however ,,If you start buying those kind of upgrades ,, you can spend a lot of dollars and maybe end up with less of a package.

Very nice boat. The bottom line on any boat is that is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it on any given day. It might be 80K on one day and it might 130K on another day. It is all in the eyes of the buyer!

This is one of the best cafe boats around. It has been maintained very well .

Re: anyone know this cafe???

I read this thread soon after it came out and read the responses, but didn't pay any attention to the ad since I wasn't intereted in a Cafe, but after reading more posts I checked out the ad. Wow, what a boat very nice. Wish I was in the market for one I might see what it would take to buy it. Like has been said before, value is what a buyer is willing to pay and a seller willing take.

This boat is at the same storage place, same row as my boat. The guy waxes the boat more than he drives it !If you are looking for a well cared for cafe this is it. As far as price,it is worth what ever you are willing to spend and he is willing to sell for.
