cigarette fuel tanks
when i was running my revolution for the first time monday i had to go fill up the tanks, and i filled up the two back tanks but realized they only held about 40-45 gallons each, and the boat supposedly holds 360 gallons of fuel total. Are these tanks jsut mainly used as auxiliary back up tanks?
thanks garey |

Re: cigarette fuel tanks
If you have the usual oval shaped fuel tanks in the engine compartment, up against the hull sides...Then, yes...their capacity is in the range you stated. Typically, in a Cigarette, there will be four(4) separate oval fuel tanks in the engine bay. Two on the port, two on the starboard, divided by a full height, deck to hull bulkhead. Another fuel tank would be under the cockpit sole. These tanks generally all feed a main fuel manifold...and then feed each engine. Cigarette uses electric valves on the top of each rear oval tank to allow selection from the dash. Hope this helps, Ed

Re: cigarette fuel tanks
thanks ed. none of the gauges in the boat work, but the tanks were emptied while putting the new engines in because the boat had been sitting several years, and when i filled them up i found that both tanks could only hold about 40 gallons
