I'm not in any way implying to flat out lie over hundreds of hp. There's a fine line on this stuff, just don't cross over it too far... If an insurance company will take a rough guess on hp, what the hell's a guy to do?

I am insured by a Progressive agent. I told the agent EXACTLY what I have, 28' Eliminator Eagle with a 525EFI. Once all the paperwork was done, they sent me on page needing about 6 initials. One question was if the boat had no more than 500 HP, and another mentioned not over 70 MPH. Eliminator and others told me that the 525 is 500 HP so I initialed it. And they told me 70 was about it, which I have seen at WOT, already.

I am taking some precautions that they are covering it so there is no question if there is a claim, but Progressive insured my boat knowing full well what I was running!

i don't believe it, cuz I insure a 26 hustler with an hp500 with progressive and it is only 1600 per year.

I had progressive insure my last boat...
28' with twin 502MPIs.
It wouldn't tkae it on the website... so believe it or not.. but I actually picked up the PHONE and called them...
It went right through.

They asked what hp.... I told them 415 each.... Not 830...
It's all in how you say it.
My policy showed a HP of 415... Probably a mistake...

Forget about this net BS and just call them..

Same here. Not on the website, not even direct. The agent passed me through. A guy who has handled a bunch of people I know so hopefully ethical. That is why I am assuring they know my boat.

By the way, my insurance is $895.
