Friggg...
Man its closer than we were in December and only about a month to go. Here on Lake Champlain for the last two years we have been in mid-April... mind you it's more snow mobile suit weather than shorts but it sure as hell scratches the itch. This is from last April. http://www.offshoreonly.com/gallery/...50101_0101.AVI When do you guys usually splash??? And... I'm talking about people that put the pink stuff in their engines... Can't friggin wait. - April '03 and - April '04 |

Can't wait. We're sick of crusing around the lakes on the gator. Its snowing now. I wish it was boating and bikini weather already! I usually put the boat in a little too early but, Memorial day is the official start of the season around here.

Can't wait either. Fortunately we have other projects to help pass the time. I HATE cold weather come on spring time :D :drink:
Normally we would have all ready been in at least once in March for a kickoff party but missed that. We are hoping for a warmer April. |

Thanks alot Sean! As if things aren't dismal enough for us northerners we have to be reminded that our break in winter only lasts 3 months. Sheesh. Common Summer!!! |

We're on about the same program, only a bit east of Champlain, I think the 100 year avg. for "official" ice out on Winni is 4/22. Who knows what will happen this year? :)
This was 4/24 last year... my buddy w/ his wife and their 6 mo. twins, (first ever ride for the boys) - first ride of the season for everyone. It was a bit cold, but it felt sooo good to be on the water again!! |
Re: Anyone else up north can't wait to splash.
Ours gets splashed a week from today (maiden voyage for us), and, weather permitting, the goal is to see how much fuel I can burn in a weekend. Come and get me, treehuggers! :drink:

Re: Anyone else up north can't wait to splash.
Had the boat out at LOTO last few days in March 2004. Don't know what will happen this year. More than likely, at least by mid April. The weather at LOTO teeters in April one way or the other. I'm ready!! :D

Re: Anyone else up north can't wait to splash.
We get the 22' Donzi out of storage April 1st but it will probably be mid April before that one or the 18' is in the water. Mid May is when the cruiser gets in the water at Erie. I'm not certain when mine is going in. Hopefully by may 1st so I can get all the bugs worked out. Right now my engine is still in pieces, my carpet isn't in and my upholstry isn't back yet :(

Re: Anyone else up north can't wait to splash.
I just checked the weather for this weekend! :evilb:
It's going to rain on sunday  I can't remember the last time it actually rained..... and not snowed. |

This is a trick question, right? Of course we can't wait to splash.
My season is end of May to end of Sept. Ok, I noticed somethin. I am sure that these are very nice people, and that I would like them a lot. However, having said that..... if you don't use the strap that goes under a small child's PFD, you might as well leave the PFD off. When they fall in the water their heads go right down out of the vest and there is nothing to keep the vest on. Vest floats. Baby sinks. Babies are easier to find on top of the water. So, if you have babies on the boat, make sure that there is something holding them in the vest besides their shoulders. Not flaming anybody.... just looking out for those little boaters. :D |

Re: Anyone else up north can't wait to splash.
Shrink wrap cut off this past thursday :D Getting her ready ... friends, neighbors, even strangers  popping by to check out the 'new' rig.
I usually shoot for April 1, or a day before, just to say I splashed in March, but this year seems like 1st / 2nd week April is more likely due to cold temps. Either way the beginning in near :) :evilb: Panther, Garry back from FL?? Hows the motors coming?? June 18 is fast approaching ... |

Motors are comming along pretty well, hope to get one on the dyno next week and then both in the boat ASAP. It's amazing how much traffic is down at the marina, I feel bad for Garry he can't get anything done until after 7 pm. Then my welder has to make me some tailpipes and I have to finish rigging the boat. Lot's of work and not a lot of time due to my "fast approaching" wedding :drink: . |
Re: Anyone else up north can't wait to splash.
8 more inches of snow here last night, still snowing this morning. thinking it may not be worth getting the boat out for our two weeks of sun this year.
