whats the deal with the hoses on the outdrives?

They ventilate the props when comming out of the hole.
does that prevent cavitation? if so how does it accomplish that? thx, ratman

I believe it actually causes cavitation. It allow the the prop to draw a little air in at low speeds so the prop can spin a little easier when trying to get on plane.
