The MDG motors are trouble free, make good power and Dave stands behind them 100%. I know of at least 6 sets of the 540 variety and some have 200-300 hours, no problems not even a set of plugs. Much better than some of the better known builders.......

I Can Speak From Experience Dave Is A Good Honest Guy And He Knows What He Is Doing. I Have A 36 Spectre With Mdg 650's And Will Have The Same Motors In My Next Boat.i Am Very Pleased And Havent Had Any Trouble. I Put Some 3.3 Whipples On Top At 80 Hours And Never Had To Look Back.i Now Have 150 Hrs On Them And Still Going Strong.dave Has A Good Combination In His Motors And Doesn't Like To Change.he Will Build You Anything You Want But His Motors Are Reliable. I Dont Think Jay At Spectre Would Offer Mdg 650's With A Waranty As A Factory Upgrade If They Weren't Dependable.
