Default new engine going in - need prop

My 24" daytona is getting a spring present. After spinning a bearing in its 454 mag (475-HP) the engine is coming out. In its place will sit a nice new merlin block 540. I'm sticking with the rect. port heads and 800 Holley for now, but, with the ISKY cam and lightening headers I could see 575-600HP.

So, I buy my boat a bad ass engine and it says it needs a new matching prop$$$

Here's the question. I was turning a 26" bravo 1, 76mph at 5200rpm. What's been the experience with the 5-blade PVx's on a daytona. Any one have experience with a 25' Daytona. Or any other CAT for comparision. The results might be similiar.

Being realistic, I'm hoping I can get the correct prop in two picks or less. This is getting pricy.

Your opinions are requested and welcome.

Post this on the prop talk forum, Throttle up has a great test program so you only have to buy one.

We have had great results with the P5X on the 24 Daytona. The key in your set up is to get the rpm right. Do you have dyno sheets for your motor?

From a different angle the 24 Daytona is an older hull that likely has the drive pretty low. If that is the case you may actually be better off with a 4 blade Hydro or even a 3 blade Mirage. Testing as many different type of props as possible is the only way for you to know. If your new motor is cammed for more RPM the prop you are running may be the ticket. Good luck!
