Using Alcohol To Replace Gas????
Does anyone know if it is possible and what it takes to convert to alcohol from gas?
190 proof fuel grade alcohol used for blending with gas is selling for $1.20 / gallon FOB production plants (mid-west). Fuel grade alcohol is currently used as an oxegenate in gas and is mandate in some states eliminating MTBE.
So there are two problems 1) can it be used as a direct replacement for gas, 2) how do you buy it from a fuel grade alcohol plant (corn converted to alcohol)
It would be a nice savings vs. $2.85 a gallon!!!!
