One down and one to go
#1
Here's one of my twins. I will build the other one tonight/tomorrow and then I am headed to Tyler Crockett's for tuning and a run on the dyno. Any guesses what the power will be??
509 CI Gen 6
Crane 731 roller cam
Edelbrock heads done by Jim V.
Whipplecharger at 8 psi boost intercooled
CMI headers
The small fuel line in front is my return line. I have 1/2 line going in the side of rail for feed.
I am hoping for 750 HP

Are you runnning the stock injectors or did ya change them? Are you running a smaller blower pulley than whats provided for a stock 502mpi.
Reason why I ask, I'm running a stock 502mpi with a whipple with a little head porting done. Keep us posted on this one. I would like to hear about the results.

Tyler said the stock injectors will be up to the task. I bought the boat used/not running so I don't really know what boost I will see. I measured the pulley diam. and it seems to be the one that comes with the stock kit. If I hit 750 with 6 lbs then I'll stop there. If not I will go smaller and try to get some more power thru boost increases. I will stop at 8 lbs because I don't think the injectors can do more than that.
I will be posting up next week the full dyno sheets. I can't wait to get this done. It has been a long time coming.

when you ran line into side of rail what size did you thread it? When i did my stock rail i was only able to use 1/4 inch npt which is quite small so i fed it in front and back, bled off the pressure at regulator ahead of rail. That worked good with stock 43lb injectors, this year i went to 63 lb and built new fuel rails, good luck at tylers,Smitty

I had a friend mill out the stock rail to accept a -8 fitting. I have a big fuel pump and hopefully it will be enough. Tyler seems to think it will be so I guess we find out on the dyno.

Just got home from Tyler's shop. The motors turned in some great numbers. I will post up some pics and dyno sheets later.
Motor A
765 hp at 5400
815 ft lbs at 4000
8 lbs boost
Motor B
775 hp at 5400
839 ft lbs at 4000
Many thanks to Tyler and Dave for getting this done for me. It was fun to work with both of them and IMO Tyler really knows his $hit when it comes to tuning fuel injection motors.
Now to get them in the boat and see what top speed will be.
