Re: swim platforms
bbc,
I have the 3m grip tape, not real nice on the feet when barefoot. I think the bars should be rounded tubing, not square like mine. That would be much more comfortable when barefoot also. I do have occasion to swim off the swim platform and I noticed these things. The bed liner might be a good thing. Get your feet wet and walk around in someone's pickup with the spray on stuff, that would tell you if it is comfortable. Poorshe, where did you get the Starboard? I was thinking of adding something to the top of mine, that would work nicely.. Dick |
Re: swim platforms
Customer of mine is a fabricator of acrylic products. He designed the platform in Autocad and did all the cuts with a CNC machine. We were going to put a hatch pattern on surface but ran out of time. Turns out the surface is "grainy" enought not to need and further non-skid.

Re: swim platforms
My friend charge aroun $600 to fab the Starboard swim platform. He's starboard dealer in addition to all kinds of other acrylics here in Melbourne (FL).
I used the brackets and supports from my old teak platform to attach. Those amounted to some heavy-duty stainless tubes on bottom of platform and running from platform to trnasom. Attachments to transom were some heavy stainless brakcets that bolted to transom. Starboard for a veneer(1/4 or 1/2) is available at most acrylic suppliers in 4 X8 or so sheets. |
