Default Leaky Keith Eickert valve covers

Does anyone use Keith Eickert 2 piece valve covers and if you do, do you have problems with oil leaks? I have a brand new pair and an older pair and they both leak around the o-rings. I bought them because they're great for valvetrain access.

I had an occasional problem with mine.....sometimes the O-ring did not seem to want to "set" in the bottom piece for some reason. (usually toward the front of the motor) It only happened on the starboard side and usually if I took it back off and ran down the front thumbscrew first it would set with no issues....almost seems as if their tolerences are on the tight side....absolutly no oil leaks otherwise though....

No problems. Great product. I do tighten both thumb screws equally and simultaneously. You should be able to see and feel if both ends of the valve cover are not seating 100%.

I am fighting a leak on mine. I have removed them a few times and tried to get the to sit better, but they still leak.

I have got spring oilers and I wrote the leaks off due to the unusual amt of oil I have have being sprayed. The leaks aren't bad, definetly worth the agravation....they are a real time saver when the valves get lashed!

Mine are great. No leaks. You have to rock them back and forth while tightening and tighten the two thumb down at the same rate.

Thanks for the replies. Maybe I can get them to stop leaking by working with them. They sure look cool though.

One additional thought, be sure and grease the receiver and the o-ring on the cover.

Also as you initially begin to tighten you may want to start the top and then tap the lower part in as you tighten.
