Would like to hear some thoughts on having a new style 2005 XR on the port side and an old style on the starboard. Other than the fact that they look different, would there be any issues? Another question: On the old style XR's, is dual water pickup an option or do they all have it? I need to replace a drive and I am trying to decide between a new style and an old style with dual water pickup. I am being told that the dual water pickup could cause an issue??? I would appreciate any input...Thanks.

You can get either duel or low water pickup on your drive for all model years. To say the least, if I were buying a drive I would go with a matched pair.

If you have external steering that
utilizes the back cap, that could
be a problem.

If you have external steering, the back cap fits just the same. I have the same problem with my Imco and it bolts right up, but It looks bad. Called Imco for new style cap and They said there just running the old style
I have the duel water pu and works great, I really dont notice any differance at all.......
