Sounds like you should use one of these.

I don't like the idea of cables much either but it's what some people want. The slight damage to the transom would be a whole lot easier to stomach than the damage from a clamp on going through a prop!

The best approach is to follow the manufacturers instructions and just drill the hole.

I just got back from my first run with the mufflers. I have to say that I am very pleased with them. I kept them full dry. I removed the inner rubber flapper as Graham had told me to do. While I don't have access to a decibel meter, I can only comment on the way it sounds to my own ears and from a few friends. The mufflers took out the real loud cracking noise. Now while at idle, you can have a conversation with the person next to you. It is nowhere near as loud as it was. GGB advertises a 9-12 decibal drop for full dry pipes. I am most likely still in the high 90 range @ idle. I think it will be good enough to not get stopped anymore. You can still here that there is a motor in the boat but the noise is alot more reasonable. The best news is NO SPEED LOSS AT ALL.

Thanks to Fred @ TrickMarine and Graham @ GGB.

For those out there with 500 hp or less we now have the GGB Cyclone Series available. They're under $300 per set so you'll have some cash left to take your girl to dinner! The Cyclone inserts are even cheaper.

I just installed set on a customers 29 Fountain with a fresh Raylar 496 this morning and it ran great with no performance loss. Nice and quiet.

As usual we have the lowest prices out there!
