Max HP, Torque, and RPM for TRS drive?
#1
Hi All,
I'm sorry if this one has been covered before, but I'm ready to pull the trigger on a Donzi w TRS.
I'm looking at building a 500- 600 HP, 550 Ft Lbs, 7400 rpm stroker motor to put in this and I need to know what a TRS unit and Tranny will stand up to, COMFORTABLY.
Thanks for your replies

OK, I could chip the motor at 6500 RPM.
Is that better?
It would still give me some room to play w prop pitch.
The last SBC I built had these dyno #s at the crank:
Max torque 551@ 4800
Max hp 557 @6400,
but the next one would probably have slightly less discplacement and be Hydrolic instead of solid roller cam

I think 600 hp is about it. Solid shimming the lower is supposed to help them last a little longer.
I've never actually seen a blown TRS upper but, I've seen and had experience with blowing lowers.
