edelbrock heads on a 365
Has anyone had good luck running edelbrock marine heads with a 454 mag .100 dome.
heads are 110cc oval port . I understand it will need premium fuel, but what hey it is boating. Running a comp cam 226 236e duration .544 .547e lift. the engine builder is questioning the clearance issue?? I have run the heads on a very very similar piston. or do you think he wants to sell me more parts? I am in the process of getting a new short block 454 mag 365. thanks for the help. |
Re: edelbrock heads on a 365
What is your current static compression ratio with that piston?

Re: edelbrock heads on a 365
How would I check the static pressure?
I talked to edelbrock before I bought the heads (other pistons). and they said I should be ok I called keith black the maker of pistons and they said it should be aprox 9.5:1 so? It is torn down getting a new block now. |
Re: edelbrock heads on a 365
I have run them for 2 seasons with no problems. Compression ratio 9.25 to 1 . Edelbrock torker plus cams @ 114 degrees.Aluminum heads give you about 1 compression point over iron heads prior to detonation. Higher head sink rate.87 octane for me @34 degrees total timing.

Are you using the K.B. KB203030 .133 dome? I ran a set for a while until I spun a bearing. Gave me around 9:1 with
118 cc heads. |
Re: edelbrock heads on a 365
I was running kb203 shave down and balanced .103 dome.
spun a brg 3 times with that stuff. going to install a oil temp gouge now. hopefully soon. |
