How does Valvoline Racing VR-1 20W-50 conventional oil stack up? Touts hight levels of ZDDP right on the bottle and I found it for $2.89/quart at a local autoparts store. Or is Kendall 20W-50 still the way to go if you go with a conventional oil? I can buy Kendall at $1.99/quart.

Mobil 1 V-Twin 20w-50 is $7.99/Qt at Auto Zone.

Not as good as the new M-1 Silver Cap 15W-50 which is very close to the old Red Cap formulation we are hearing. Premium PAO's such as Redline/Amsoil Racing and V-twin are still the 2,000 gorilla's. |

Buy enough for the season for that price! |
Anyone ever try or know anything about Spectro Oils. They have a Heavy Duty Golden Motorcycle 20W-50 that's supposedly great.

Who do they buy their base from as they are a formulation company like Amsoil.

Hydro, I was thinking of you this evening. They had an hour on the History Channel about lubrication, and oil in general. Very interesting.

Don't know who they buy from. I called them to ask the weight of the race oil. I was told that it's a secret. I know a someone thats been using it for three years and had good success.Good oil temps and pressure. It looks like trany fluid. $85 for a five gal. can.
