How does Valvoline Racing VR-1 20W-50 conventional oil stack up? Touts hight levels of ZDDP right on the bottle and I found it for $2.89/quart at a local autoparts store. Or is Kendall 20W-50 still the way to go if you go with a conventional oil? I can buy Kendall at $1.99/quart.

Both are very good and near as good and maybe infact better than the old 15W-50 M-1 EP for certain.

Not as good as the new M-1 Silver Cap 15W-50 which is very close to the old Red Cap formulation we are hearing.

Premium PAO's such as Redline/Amsoil Racing and V-twin are still the 2,000 gorilla's.

Anyone ever try or know anything about Spectro Oils. They have a Heavy Duty Golden Motorcycle 20W-50 that's supposedly great.

Hydro, I was thinking of you this evening. They had an hour on the History Channel about lubrication, and oil in general. Very interesting.

A secret! Just buy a quart and send it out for an analysis. The lab will do a viscosity check at 100 and 210 and then it's not a secret anymore. A secret, what are they trying to hide?
