Default voltage meter jumps to max

When ever i throttle my 454 mpi engine it causes my voltage meter on my port engine to jump to the max. The starbourd side is fine. And if my engine is idling and i turn on the fridge it causes the engine to stall. Is this an alternator problem?? Thanks

Default Re: voltage meter jumps to max

You've got a ground problem--either in the alternator (short from loose/worn brushes) or bad wire shorting out--probably from abrasion or vibration or corrosion between wire and connector.
