Couldn't resist the smart-ass comment but I did talk to the Lucas race team in Sarasota and they were convincing and they were from Ocala.

The Lucas product is an oil "tackifier" ...it makes the oils stickier and gets it up into the lifters and other areas and helps hold it there. If you have worn parts like lifters and valves it can help quiet things down and instill better lubrication for a while.

If it is not working as such then you just need to be thinking freshing up that puppy maybe at the end of the season.

Hydro thanks for the feedback. I thought it wouldn't hurt to get some extra holdong power for lifters and valves since boat hasn't been getting as much use as I'd like. Everything is normal in engines given 700 hours but then I'm pretty anal about filters, oil, clean/fresh fuel. Just concerned about extended sitting and quasi-dry starts.

For the most part I feel like the fuel and oil additives are snake oil--and very profitable at that.
